Detailed Narrative Description of project:

The Elnino rains of 1997 brought about road damages on the Kabale- Katuna road, and SAUTI and PROME Consultants were entrusted to carry out the supervision of the above named project. The works that were involved included:
  • Construction of geo-cell mattress in tensor geo-grids (5000m2 ) in soft soil foundation.
  • Construction of reinforced embankment in tensor geo-grids (9000m3 )
  • Construction of gabions retaining wall (9000m3 )
  • Construction of under drains (cut of drains) and drainage layers under the road structure
  • Pavement reconstruction which included shoulder reconstruction, subgrade, subbase, stabilised base, surface dressing, pothole repairs
